 Nationals Registration is now open!!

**Jan. 29th: Note- space is limited in U 15 / 16 events in Alberta.  Please ensure that you register promptly to avoid disappointment.

If you are trying to register or be put on a wait list for the U 17 / 18 event in Abbotsford please do so now.

Last upload to NRS happened February 5th at  noon.

Reminder - to register a team in Nationals, you need a roster of any 8 players. The roster can be changed any time before the registration locked date.  Use this method to save a space in your event.

NOTE: Only BC Club Contacts can create teams.  The Club Contact will assign a NRS Team Contact when a team is created.    The NRS Team Contact is the only person able to edit the team's roster.

Beginning January 2010, Volleyball Canada will be using a new National Registration System (NRS) for registration of all National Championships.  The NRS will run independently of the Volleyball BC system and must be used by all teams wishing to attend National Championships.

Please read this document carefully as it outlines the how the NRS works and what is required of teams registering in Nationals Championships.

Update – Jan 18 2010

1) Because the 2 systems are independent, Volleyball BC must upload/ synchronize member information to the NRS.  This upload will happen each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10AM(PST).

2) This upload will include a “snapshot” of the Volleyball BC database.  Any changes or additions made to the BC database between uploads will not be reflected within the NRS until the next upload date.

3) Following each upload of information, the NRS will recognize all new Club and Team Contacts and automatically send an email with details on how to access the NRS.

* Note - Teams not wishing to attend a National Championship do not need to register within the NRS.

**Reminder – Only individuals that are registered within the BC system as Club Contact or Club Team Contacts will receive the NRS automated email.  Please ensure your email address is correct.

Update – The NRS views all BC Teams as being part of the same club.  This should not cause any problems but it will make it important that we use a clear naming standard (see below).

Also – Please note that only BC members identified as Club Contacts can create Teams within the NRS.

4) Following the link within the email, Club Contacts will:

A - Confirm their registration (please use "new member registation" )

B – Click VBC Offline Club to begin the process of creating a team

C - In the ‘Quick Links’ menu (on the left hand side) click Teams.

D – Click Add Team to create your new team.

E – Assign a Team Contact.  Click Assign Member and search the database for your Team Contact.  (it may take a second or 2 to show the results)

Click the row for your Team Contact and click Add Member (top left of the results box**this is green circle not the red "add member")

Your Team now has a Team Contact.  Only the Team Contact can edit or delete the roster.

F – Assign a division.  This is the age category and gender of the team.

Once completed, click Add Team to create the team within the system.

G – Team Name and Website URL (if you have one)

Note - Because all BC teams are viewed as being within the same club, please identify your club name as the first part of your team name.

Example =  Club Name + Team Name + …

So they look like this:

Ducks Alym 16U girls

Focus Explosion U18

FVVC 18U Blue

Etc.

This will help the Club Contacts as they sort through the list to find teams.

URL – you must include the http:// or the system will not recognize the address.

Once you have assigned a name, click Save to save your roster.

H - Build a roster

Select the team from list (the team will highlight) and click Edit Team

Click Add Player to populate your roster from within the NRS database.

Click Select Member to search the database.

Find your players and click Add Member (top left of the search results)

You will return to the Add Team Roster page – here you identify the “Role” for the player (be it player, coach, etc.)  You can select more than one option.

Click Save when done.  You should see the updated roster reflecting the change.

Note - each player/ member added to a roster will receive a confirmation email automatically.

Repeat these steps to populate your roster.

Note – At this time, the NRS does not require rosters to be accurate to register in Nationals.  If your team/ roster is not confirmed, you can add any players within the NRS system to your roster (to meet the NRS requirements of min 8 players) in order to register that team in the Nationals event.  Then, at a later date, you can update your roster with the correct players.

I – register for the event.  The registration for Nationals has been delayed as some bugs within the NRS system are corrected.  At this time, no events are available for registration.

Please have your rosters created and ready to go when registration opens.

Other notes

* Note – the only payment required during this process will be for the Nationals Event.  Membership dues are paid to BC through the BC system.  Do not follow any links to “add players to the database”.  Only add players through the BC system.

Please have a credit card ready to pay for your Nationals Event registration.

* Reminder - Volleyball BC membership info is uploaded (refreshed) to the NRS three times each week.  Players cannot be added directly to the NRS.  Any changes to a member’s membership category or personal information must be made within the BC system and will be uploaded to the NRS as scheduled.

** Reminder – At the time of registration, a team must have a roster of 8 players (Max 15) to register in a National Championship event.  Roster changes/ updates can happen any time before the locked roster date (specified within the NRS)

Should you encounter any problems during the Nationals Registration process, please see the Contact Us page within the NRS system for Volleyball Canada (VC) contact information.
